Alex Rivers studied Economics at Nottingham University before spending time in Brazil where he taught English and learnt Portuguese, simultaneously. Upon returning to London, he joined the family business as Managing Director of Astor Hostels. During his time, he has worked successfully to extend the London hostels and has overseen the opening of another site in York. He lives in West London with his wife and was appointed as a trustee of the Rivers Foundation in 2020.
